Presented by The New-York Times as the “cult figures in the European architecture world”, Bêka & Lemoine’s complete work has been acquired in 2016 by the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) for its permanent collection.

In the true definition of a “Majlis”, the session is a forum for discussion and conversation. It involves a moderated panel of three individuals from various backgrounds, disciplines, and experiences that shed light on how each practices and approaches narrative differently. The panelists belong to the local community, both national and expat, as a way to highlight and celebrate the melting pot that Doha is. One can only imagine and anticipate the rich conversations that will result when all these elements collide and interplay.

Shk. Maryam Al-Thani is the curator and director of an upcoming Photography Festival at Qatar Museums (QM). Her work at QM encompasses working with public entities to develop community programmes and exhibit artworks. Al-Thani curated Photography for ‘Contemporary Art Qatar’ in Russia, amongst many other exhibitions. She holds a BA (Hons.) in Criticism, Communication, and Curation from Central Saint Martins.
